Important Notice for Candidates of Constable (GD) Examination, 2018
Applicants of Constable (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2018 may please note that the facility for submission of online applications for the said examinationwas started on 25-07-2018. However, due to very heavy load of applications, the new website of the Commission has become very slow and candidates are facing problems in One-Time Registration and submission of online applications. To mitigate the inconvenience caused to candidates, it has been decided to temporarily withhold receiving online applications for the said examination w.e.f. 28-07-2018 (8 PM) for a period of 20 days. During this period of temporary suspension i.e. w.e.f. 28-07-2018 up to 16-08-2018, the Commission would be augmenting the capability of the online system commensurate with the load which is likely to increase during ensuing days. The candidates who have already registered on the new website are assured that their data is secure with the Commission and that they will not be required to register again.It may be noted that receipt of online applications would commence w.e.f. 17-08-2018 at 10 AM. Accordingly, the last date for submission of online applications for the said examination would be extended up to 17-09-2018 (5 PM). Payment through Challans of SBI can be made at the designated branches of SBI within the Banking hours up to 20-09-2018, provided the challans have been generated before the closing date and time for receipt of applications. Other terms and conditions will remain unchanged.

SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2018 Age Limit :
18-23 years as on 01.08.2018. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.08.1995 and later than 01.08.2000.
Note-I: The upper age limit is relaxable for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons in accordance with the Governments orders on the subject.
Note-II: Candidates should note that only the Date of Birth and Name as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and name. No subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.
Age relaxation codes available to different categories of candidates for claiming age relaxation as on the date of reckoning are as follows:
- SC/ST : 5 Years
- OBC : 3 Years
- Ex-Servicemen : 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of reckoning.
- Children and dependent of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat (Unreserved) : 5 Years
- Children and dependent of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat (OBC) : 8 Years
- Children and dependent of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat (SC/ ST) : 10 Years
- Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st Jan 1980 to 31st Dec 1989. : 5 Years
SSC GD Constable Syllabus for written Test :
All questions will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type. The computer based examination will be conducted in English and Hindi only.
The syllabus for the Examination will be as follows:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, nonverbal series, coding and decoding, etc.
- General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
- Elementary Mathematics: This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
- English/ Hindi: Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and his basic comprehension would be tested.
The questions in all the above components will be of Matriculation level.
