Bajali College, Pathsala
Bajali College was established at Pathsala as a co-educational institution on 16th Aug, 1955. Presently, Bajali is the name of a civil sub-division bearing semi- urban feature with its head-quarter at Pathsala under Barpeta district of Assam. The area has age old reputation for its cultural and socio economic factors.
Its farmer populace was deprived of higher education till then and there was no institution of higher learning in the entire Bajali area . Youths aspiring for higher education, were to go out of the area. Most of them were from agro based families who were economically handicapped. So a group of enterprising social workers of Bajali under the dynamic leadership of Late Kameswar Das, a gold medalist in M.Sc (Mathematics) from Calcutta university, the first chairman of Assam Public Service Commission and an illustrious son of Bajali, founded Bajali College.
